The springs from MP have sagged on some people lately. Seems like the dedicated springs companies (Eaton, etc) would be a better bet for buying stock leafs. IMHO the big advantage of the monoleaves for street usage is probably just the weight. The factory 6-leaf springs are whole lot of unsprung weight on the rear axle.

With my mild big block (500-550hp) it does great and keeps the car straight with street tires burnnin for a 100 feet . And they do great with slicks or dr's.. The split mono-leafs are designed to work with Calvert's CalTrac bars. The CalTracs are designed to keep the axle from rotating, thereby maintaining proper pinion angle. You then need to weld in a steel plate from the front of the spring mount across to the frame.

The springs from MP have sagged on some people lately. Seems like the dedicated springs companies (Eaton, etc) would be a better bet for buying stock leafs . IMHO the big advantage of the monoleaves for street usage is probably just the weight. The factory 6-leaf springs are whole lot of unsprung weight on the rear axle. 2008. 7. 31. · With the new mono leaf springs from the Caltracs kit, the ride heighth in the rear of my Fairlane actually increased about a half inch more than the old factory leaf springs (which had about 110,000 miles on them). The front suspension is still stock. Consider that the weight on the front end lightened up a bit, due to aluminum heads and intake.
